Android 5.1 could arrive early 2015
Google may release an update for the new version 5 Android OS, Lollipop; though Android 5 has only recently been made available and not many devices have yet been able to even get the new OS.
The website AndroidPit.com say they got the news from unnamed but trusted insider sources about the update which may come around Feb 2015. It is quite unusual to have an update this early after a new major OS release, but there have been reports of users having problems concerning stability and app performance, so Google is doing its best to iron out the issues asap.
The sources say that the following list of fixes are to be in the Android 5.1 Lollipop update :-
• General improvements in system stability
• Improved RAM management
• Fixes for sudden app closures
• Improved battery management
• Excessive consumption of network devices when used Wi-Fi fixed
• Issues with wireless connections fixed
• Problems with Okay Google function solved
• Notifications problems solved
• Some sound problems experience by certain devices fixed
• Other improvements and changes
Whenever there is a major OS release into the wild it is common to have problems appear that don’t get accounted for beforehand, which again is confirmed for the new Android version, and its good to see Google listening to users and providing a quick update.
