Microsoft Internet Explorer 10 available for Windows 7

14 November 2012

Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7Microsoft is not totally forgetting about Win7 in its excitement over Win8 as it has released version 10 of IE, bringing it level with the version on Win8. At the moment its still considered a preview release but good enough for using as a stable version. No word yet on why that is the case from Microsoft or when the next update will be. “In Windows 8, we reimagined the browser with IE10. We designed and built IE10 to be the best way to experience the Web on Windows,” said Rob Mauceri, the program manager for IE on MSDN blog, adding, “With the IE10 Release Preview for Windows 7 consumers can now enjoy a fast and fluid Web with the updated IE10 engine on their Windows 7 devices.”

IE 10 for Windows 7 nearly all the functionality for browsing that can be found on IE on Windows 8. There is much improvement over the previous IE on Win7 and users will most definitely notice a big difference; Fast and fluid browsing due to hardware acceleration, better JavaScript Engine (dubbed Chakra) and predictive browsing (loads the next page on a multi page site). Full screen viewing is now possible and new multi touch integration for those who have a touchscreen based Win7 device. There is also better support for HTML5 and CCS3 for UI and making programmers coding efforts easier.

Internet Explorer 10 is available to download from this page. If for some reason users do not feel comfortable with IE 10, then just uninstalling it will bring back IE 9 has it is not deleted from the system once IE 10 is installed.
