New Angry Birds Star Wars trailer teases more about the game

22 October 2012

Angry Birds Star WarsRovio, the developers of  ‘Angry Birds’ have released another trailer teasing at what to expect from the new game, which, from the title, is obviously based on the Star Wars theme. The upcoming game in the hugely successful Angry Bird franchise is to be available from 8th November and Rovio is going full speed with making fans aware of the fact and drum up excitement. This latest trailer is 23 seconds long is a spoof of a scene from the 1977 film, Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, and does not reveal anything about the gameplay. Set as usual “a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away” Princess Leia is shown asking a Stormtrooper, who from the looks of it is one of the Angry Birds’ dressed in ‘Pig Stormtrooper costume’, and asks “Aren’t you a little short for a Stormtrooper?”. The Stormtrooper attempts to take off the helmet to reveal who he is, but finds that it is stuck and cannot be removed; at which he sulks off mumbling to himself.

Nothing so far has been given away on what or how the gameplay will run. Something about rescuing Princess Leia from the Pigs? The other games in the series have been about flinging Angry Birds at the Pigs and their apparutus using all manner of items and other characters. Could Rovio be sticking to the same this time? Or something completely different? Find out on 8th November when its released and playable on  Android, iOS, Amazon Kindle Fire, PC, Mac, Windows Phone and Windows 8. Also expect plenty of various merchandise to go with the game in time for the winter holiday season.
