25 billion downloads at Google Play - Apps and games for 25 centGoogle announced that its Google Play store has had over 25 billion downloads from its collection of over 675,000 apps and games. 20 billion mark was hit back in June and now amassed another 5 billion in just over 3 months. To celebrate the achievment Google will sell some top tier apps, books, movies and music from makers like  Electronic Arts, Rovio, Gameloft, Runtastic and Full Fat at $0.25 (25 cents) or £0.25 (25p) in the UK for the next 5 days. Google will also be offering, “special collections like 25 movies you must own, 25 banned books, 25 albums that changed the world and our 25 top-selling magazines, all at special prices,” as was said on its Android blog. The increase in number of downloads is helped by the over 500 million Android devices worldwide and the 1 million new devices being activated everyday according to Google.
