RAZR i the first Intel powered smartphone from Motorola unveiled

Motorola RAZR iMotorola have launched its first smartphone that is powered by Intel, the RAZR i, which is running a 2GHz Intel Atom processor. The smartphone was unveiled at an event held in London, England which was called the biggest launch since the original RAZR, to showcase the efforts of Google owned Motorola and Intel. One of the main distinguishing features of the RAZR i is the virtually edge-to-edge 4.3inch AMOLED screen. The device comes shipped running Google’s Android 4.0 ICS which is upgradable to Anrdoid 4.1 Jelly Bean. giving the smartphone full access to Google Play and over 600,000 apps, games etc. The single core Atom processor (Z2480) is the first to achieve clock speeds of 2GHz on a smartphone. Intel have said the processor is optimized for Java, web browsing and games with high end graphics. “Together with Intel, we’re redefining what people can expect from a mobile device. A camera that launches in an instant, Web pages that load blazingly fast and a device that’s the perfect balance of screen size and fit in hand,” said Jim Wicks, senior vice president, Consumer Experience Design, Motorola Mobility. “RAZR i delivers just that when you put an Intel-fast processor in a beautifully designed phone and add in extra long battery life.”

Motorola have also included an impressive 8 mega pixel camera that can load in less than 2 seconds, able to take upto 10 shots a second for fast moving action,  illuminated sensor located on the back and the ability to capture High Dynamic Range (HDR) photos, and a 0.3 mega pixel camera on the front for making video calls. The battery is a 2,000 mAh that is said to be longer lasting and 40% more powerful than other mainstream smartphones. The RAZR i will be available to buy in UK, France, Germany, Brazil, Argentina and Mexico at the beginning of October being priced about £340/€420.
