This week see another device maker enter the tablet market by Casio launching a rugged 10inch tablet. Casio are more famous for there watches and calculators but now have joined the ever growing tablet competition.

The tablet is running Android Ice Cream Sandwich with 10inch screen, powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz TI OMAP4460 processor, NFC, 5 megapixel camera on front and back. As well as NFC, connection is available via 802.11 a,b,g,n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 and with a user swap-able high capacity battery to keep things running for longer.

Casio say that the two models made, V-T500-GE and V-T500E, are IPR 54 rated, which means that they can withstand a drop from 3 feet and protected from dust and water splashes; both are incased in rubber for increased ruggedness. There is no info yet of price points, where avialable or date of release.
