Sony announces new Walkman
The Walkman is still walking, albeit in a modern way. Sony has brought out 4 models in the Walkman line, in 3 styles.
There are the mp3 audio only, mp4 for audio and video and then one which is web enabled. The latter model will be running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with access to the full suite of apps at the Google Play Store.
The top end model, NWZ-Z1060 32GB has a 4.3inch touchscreen, bluetooth, wi-fi, xLoud Speaker system, a G-Sensor and DLNA enabled. If they add in a GSM chip and camera it’d be like their range of Xperia smartphones and the cost is comparable too. The remaining 3 have some of the advanced features missing, less storage and should be less pricey. The E470 range come in 6 different vibrant ‘pop colors’. Sony is putting the Walkman in direct competition with Apple’s iPod.
